Last evening, residents of Riabai Ward near Mada, Kwa Jino in Kiambu County were left in shock after a tragic incident in which a local bread distributor identified as Jose allegedly killed his girlfriend before taking his own life.
The couple, who had reportedly just moved in together, were found dead around 5 p.m. Authorities say Jose is suspected to have ended his girlfriend’s life before later hanging himself inside their house.
The motive behind the disturbing incident is yet to be established, as investigators continue to piece together the events that led to the double tragedy.
The bodies of the deceased were moved to St. Theresa Mortuary in Thindigua, where postmortem examinations are expected to be conducted to aid police investigations.
Residents have described the incident as shocking and heartbreaking, calling for deeper awareness on mental health and domestic relations to avert similar tragedies.
