A light Cessna aircraft crashed killing 11 souls on board in the coastal region destined to Maasai Mara national reserve. No reported survivors as heavy rain downpours in the region early morning.
The Kenya civil Avaiation authority said the accident happened during departure near Indian ocean coast at about 8.30am and that all passengers dead were tourists. The bodies had also been burned beyond recognition.The crash took place in a hilly and forested area about 40km from Diani airstrip, authorities said.
Investigators are looking into probable cause of the aircrash as witnesses say the aircraft burst into flames leaving a charred wreckage at the scene as they heard a loud bang upon arrival at the scene only to found humain remains. The region is known for a number of tourist destinations , i.e sandy beaches and game reserves.
