The National Police Service has confirmed that its nationwide recruitment of 10,000 police constables will proceed on Monday, November 17, 2025.
In a statement released on Friday, NPS spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga said the exercise will run from 8 am to 5 pm across 427 recruitment centres. The Service described the process as a one-day event and urged eligible Kenyan youth to present themselves.
The NPS said successful applicants will form a new cohort expected to support ongoing reforms within the Service.
Addressing concerns about integrity, the NPS acknowledged past allegations of corruption during recruitment and warned that any form of bribery, whether giving or receiving, will result in prosecution.
The Service called for public support, saying its mission remains to build a trusted and professional policing system.
Earlier guidelines released on November 4 require applicants to be Kenyan citizens aged between 18 and 28, with a valid national ID and a KCSE mean grade of D plus, including at least a D plus in English or Kiswahili. Candidates must be physically and medically fit, meet the minimum height standards, and have no criminal record. Female applicants must not be pregnant during recruitment or training.
NYS graduates who meet the requirements were also encouraged to apply. Applicants were instructed to download and complete prescribed forms ahead of the recruitment day.
The NPS reiterated that the exercise is free and warned that providing false information or attempting to influence the process is a criminal offence.
